After I returned from California a friend and I re-checked my relocation chart. We had both missed the critical change in my rising sign to 3 Aquarius – in exact opposition to my 5 Pluto in Leo (ouch).

Pluto is the planet of transformation. While Saturn says ‘you should’, Pluto says ‘you will’. There are no options. I was really living the life of ‘I should’ while in California. I kept thinking that if I did this, then that should happen. And frequently it did not. I found many stumbling blocks (some of my own making).

Finally I said ‘OK god, I give up’. and all of a sudden miracles happened. I sold my condo and car in one day, friends helped me pack, another friend let me store my kitchen and other smaller stuff in a garage. I was ‘outta’ there in 12 days. Headed to SC to live with my mother and father for a time, while I got my health back. Mom made chicken soup and other things she thought would make me better.

One downside – they were serious meat and potato eaters – I was a mild vegetarian (ate only fish and occasional chicken). First thing on the agenda while I was there was to learn to eat red meat again. At first it was very difficult. Slowly it became easier, but I was never totally comfortable with meat. Actually, I have never liked meat, fron the time I was little I would trade my portion of steak for the part with fat and preferred chicken wings (which no one in their right mind ate in the early 50′s)

The next opportunity I had was that while living with my parents (even though I was 49) I had to live under their rules again. This was really a challenge. My father knew only one way of talking to any of us in the family and that was using a parent-child approach. Within the first week I found a fantastic counselor at the health clinic who helped me to learn to ask for adult-adult communication from my parents. Sadly they were not ready to accept this at that time. Learning this method of communication was another step in the Pluto changes. I had never attempted to negotiate for anything with my parents.

I found a part time job and my mother drove me to work each night and my father picked me up.
