After I returned from California a friend and I re-checked my relocation chart. We had both missed the critical change in my rising sign to 3 Aquarius – in exact opposition to my 5 Pluto in Leo (ouch)

a lesson in syncronicity

Author: Jeanne

Today I recieved an e-mail from
The Marketing Minute
by Marcia Yudkin, Marketing Expert and Mentor

http://www.yudkin.com/markmin.htm

Talk about syncronicity – here is her post

You’ve slaved over your product and your marketing copy – or over a blog post, position paper or proposal.
Your audience – not just one person, but a chorus of four or five – offers a response that’s radically off the mark.
One of two reactions is very common:
* “Ouch!” You withdraw, lick your wounds and sulk.
* “You’re wrong!” A vigorous counterattack ensues.
Hard as this might be, don’t take the feedback as a personal failure or evidence that people are hasty readers, sloppy thinkers or downright stupid.
Instead, communication has failed. Communication has a sender and a receiver. Consider therefore that you are 50 percent responsible for the misfire.
Take a deep breath and turn on your curiosity:
* What did you say or do – or not say or do – that led to that impression?
* What can you change or add to help people receive your message as intended? If it’s too late to modify what went out, learn for next time.
Getting upset or angry about feedback is natural. I’ve been there, too. Transcend that, though, and your marketing gets better and better.

I have been ‘attempting’ to be a content writer on a talent agency’s blog. I got a note earlier this week saying, ‘ The blog posts of ***** agency have a required word range of xxx-xxx words. Both the blog posts you have done are below the minimum range. [communication - I forgot this requirement]

It has also been pointed out that no creativity is being shown in the posts Can you please address these problems in the current and future posts? You can use the previous posts as a guide for style’. [ahh, creativity is definitely in the eye of the beholder - I need to find some]

Thank heavens for Marcia’s e-mail today. I had withdrawn – not to sulk, but feeling not my best. I will move along now and learn from my mistakes.

answered prayers

Author: Jeanne

It has been extremely hot this summer. The home I bought about 7 years ago had a ceiling fan in the living room. In this heat, it was very much appreciated. Until a few weeks ago. I pulled the chain to start the fan spinning and – nothing, NADA, no way was that chain going to move. As the heat built up in my living room, so did my wishes.

Now I have never liked this fan, I did appreciate it though. It wobbled, it made a whoppa-whoppa noise that got worse the higher the speed. So even though it might only need a new switch, I decided this was the universes way of telling me to buy a new one. I went to Home Depot and found just what I wanted and brought it home.

I knew that my younger brother planned to visit soon and I said some prayers to various saints in hopes that he might help me install it. As you can figure it out, I needed more than help. I know nothing about electricity.

From the title of this post you already know that my prayers were answered. Even though he had to cut his visit short, he had time to help big sis. I now have a lovely, quiet fan in my living room and the air is circulating once again. We also had a really nice visit.

What I see happening more and more is that as we focus on a need or goal, we are able to bring that thing to fruition. Is this because of prayers, meditation, or our own energetic growth?  Frequently I think that all three come into play.

children’s peace pledge

Author: Jeanne

I was at a gathering of spiritual souls on Thursday evening and a teacher in the group (from an alternative school) mentioned the children starting the day with the Peace Pledge and the Character Pledge (below). I searched for them on the net and decided to include them here. It would be wonderful if more schools chose to add these to the start of their day. Withought the thought, the action does not take place.

School Pledge of Nonviolence

Making peace must start within ourselves and in our school. Each of us, members of _________________ School, on this day, ______________, 20__, commit ourselves as best we can to become nonviolent and peaceable people.

To Respect Self and Others
To respect ourselves, to affirm others and to avoid uncaring criticism,
hateful words, physical attacks and self-destructive behavior.

To Communicate Better
To share our feelings honestly, to look for safe ways to express our anger,
and to work at solving problems peacefully.

To Listen
To listen carefully to one another, especially those who disagree with us,
and to consider others’ feelings and needs rather than insist on having our own way.

To Forgive
To apologize and make amends when we have hurt another,
to forgive others, and to keep from holding grudges.

To Respect Nature
To treat the environment and all living things,
including our pets, with respect and care.

To Play Creatively
To select activities and toys that support our school’s values and to avoid
activities that make violence look exciting, funny or acceptable.

To Be Courageous
To challenge violence in all its forms whenever we encounter it, whether at home, at school, or in the community, and to stand with others who are treated unfairly.

This is our pledge. These are our goals. We will check ourselves on what we have pledged once a month on the _____________ day of the month for this school year so that we can help each other become more peaceable people.

“Eliminating violence, one school at a time, starting with our own.”

reality catching up

Author: Jeanne

We have been hearing a lot about how many souls will choose to leave this plane, as we get nearer to 2012.

I did not mean to be blase, but there have been very few souls, in my circle, leaving during my lifetime. Therefore I was not prepared for the kick in my heart area when I recieved an e-mail from a dear friend letting me know that she was on chemo and fighting a very invasive form of cancer.

Never again will I take this movement as lightly as I have in the past.

If you are reading this, then take a moment and send healing prayers to my friend, Patricia.

larry the lawnmower man

Author: Jeanne

On Monday, I saw Larry mowing the lawn across the street. Since we have had this run of extreme heat recently, I have not seen him mowing in the neighborhood.

I rushed out and asked him if he could mow and trim for me. He came over after he finished my neighbor’s lawn and mowed my lawn. Then yesterday, I was sitting in my computer room, when I heard the sound of a weed whacker just outside my window. I looked out and there was Larry.

I ran out to ask him if he would cut a small 5′ stretch of grass between my yard and my neighbor’s back door. I explained how nice my neighbor was to me (watering my flowers in all this heat) and that we usually mowed the small strip of grass between each others home. He said ‘sure’. A short while later, a knock sounded on my front door. It was Larry and he asked for a trash bag. This totally confused me. Sensing this Larry said that he had weeded my front garden. !!!

It has been too hot for me to do it and my 2 grandchildren, who usually come and help me out with the yard, have been at summer camp and then on vacation with their parents. So, believe me the garden was a serious mess.

This random act of kindness warmed my heart and made the neighborhood look so much nicer. I really appreciate it.
